Wail: Barry M "Forest"

Hello everyone!
Happy Wednesday- you're halfway to the weekend! Yay!

So today, I have a swatch of a new-ish Barry M polish for you! This is one of the ones I bought in my frenzy the other week, and I'm so glad I chose it. I was humming and harring over it at first because I'm not such a fan of the other Silk polish I have- Meadow. But this one- Forest- is just so much nicer. I think it's the deeper, darker colour that I like more. Meadow was just... not for me.

All images are using 2 coats of polish.

Back to Forest though! In the bottle, this looks like a pretty dark blue polish with a slight shimmer and purple tint. In reality, it's still a deep blue polish but has a lovely teal tint to it. I'm a sucker for teals, I really am!

It's delicate shimmer is accompanied with a semi-matte finish. It's honestly a little shinier than matte, but it's not one of those super duper shiny gel-like polishes that lets you see your own reflection.

My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to be lasting too well... After wear of around 14-16 hours, which was when these pics were taken, you can see tip-wear and even a chip on the cuticle of my middle nail. Sad times since this is one of those polishes you don't particularly want to put a topcoat onto, as it would take away a little bit of the desired finish and effect.

Here's a few pics with the flash turned on, where you can see the teal tones a bit more dominantly.

Overall then, I think this polish is truly stunning, despite being a little... fragile, if we can call a polish such things! I'm sure it will settle into my collection very happily and get plenty of wear.

That's all for today! Don't forget to pop back on Friday, where I'll have (you guessed it) yet another swatch for you! See you then!

How To: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails are a great way to ensure that your mani matches your outfit over a set period of days (depending on how many colours you use), and it also just looks pretty dang awesome. You've seen a few of my own mani's where gradients have been used (these ones below, in example), especially those in more recent posts! So a tutorial is definitely long overdue- I hope you find it useful!
