A Blogger's Bookshelf: Black Beauty

So many B's this week!
At the moment, I am currently reading... Black Beauty by Anna Sewell
It's a book which I got for free on my Kindle, because it's a little old. I decided to start reading it because I absolutely love the film, and I thought the book would be really interesting and have that emotional connection from the beginning that would draw my attention right in.

I think I was a little bit wrong there... I'm currently up to Chapter 11, which is a mere 20% through the book, and I'm finding myself looking at my kindle, shrugging and then walking off... which isn't a good thing, I guess. From what I've read, I've enjoyed though, but I think my issue is that there isn't much of a storyline yet, there's just been several character introductions taking up a chapter each that don't seem to intertwine too much yet, so it just isn't as gripping as any of the other books that I've read recently (such as the Hush Hush series, and even the Warrior Cats series).
At least for now, I think this book is going to be slotted back into my bookshelf/to-read pile, and I'm going to take a shot at the Divergent series, especially since the film is coming out soon! (Or is it out already? I'm a bit behind on all of the film-news and what not!)

I'm sorry that this is such a short post, but I really have nothing else to say about Black Beauty right now, it's just so... meh. Personally, I read to get away from the World and dive into something different, and whilst this takes you back in time, it's just not quite different enough to escape the stresses of today- for now. Maybe I'll read it in the Summer when everything's a bit more relaxed!

Thanks for reading anyway!

(P.S. There's also a new link up there in the 'pages' menu-thing (Polish List!), which will take you to a spreadsheet of all of my owned polishes! (It'll say when it's being updated) So let me know if you want any particular polish swatched! Or if you don't say specifically, I'll work my way down the list, choosing different colours as I go.)

Coming Up This Week...
Wednesday: Wail: Party Nails!
Friday: Fridail: OPI Brazil Beach Sandies Part 1
