Fridail: Colour Me Crazy- Pink!

Hey everyone!
I hope you've had a good week, and anybody who got results yesterday did well enough to get where they wanted! I did, and am going to Manchester Uni to study Zoology in September! Woooooo!!

So, onto the post! Here's my pink mani for the British Nail Blogger's Challenge!

For some reason, my camera had difficulties picking up the colours of this mani properly. I think it was the lighting, but I tried a few different ones with no change, so I may have another go in broad daylight and replace/add any images that turn out better!

The brighter polish seen in this manicure was Models Own's "Shades" from their Polish for Tans collection. It's a beautiful glowing pink colour that can come across as more of a peach (but not as much as "Beach Bag"). I feel like it's kind of bringing out my tan a little, as the name suggests, but I must stress that the shine here is coming from the topcoat I used and not from the polish itself, which is actually semi-matte.

The marbled parts of my nails here are done by using the 'pin marbling' method in Leighton Denny's "Pillow Talk" polish. It looks red in some pics, but it's really a dark pink!

Edit: I got some better photos! They actually match the colours perfectly, so here!

I hope you enjoyed this post then! I should have a book post for you on Monday, followed by a swatch and a purple mani later next week! See you all soon!

  1. These look great especially on the accent nail - I think it looks like pink flames! Well done on getting into university, hope you have fun. :)

Your Guide to Barry M Gelly's!

Finally , the time has come for the ever-promised "Barry M Gelly Polishes Review & Swatch" Post! YAY! Now, now, settle down, settle down, and prepare yourself for an image-heavy post! Panorama View? Yes please... Okay, so that picture isn't too great. But there's the colours that between us (Me and Rhian) have in the Gelly range. We're only missing "Grapefruit" I think...

How To: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails are a great way to ensure that your mani matches your outfit over a set period of days (depending on how many colours you use), and it also just looks pretty dang awesome. You've seen a few of my own mani's where gradients have been used (these ones below, in example), especially those in more recent posts! So a tutorial is definitely long overdue- I hope you find it useful!
