Meadow and Tree Nails

These nails are definitely one for any time of year- make them spooky for halloween with a dark and red background with creepy spiny black trees, or use icy blues and white colours with a bit of silver shimmer to represent a snowy Winter scene, or even soft pastel blues and a golden sun with lush green grass and fully bloomed trees during the Spring and Summer seasons- it's entirely up to you!
Here's a quick little tutorial on how to do them ^^

Step 1)
Paint a white base (after a normal base coat etc.)! This will really help the colours stand out when you do the gradient for the sky!

Step 2)
Create your gradient for the sky! I'll upload a tutorial sometime in the near future, but in the mean time if you want to try this, all you have to do it grab a makeup sponge, paint on your colours in rows (in the order you want them to appear), roll this onto your nail before dabbing the sponge up and down a few times (both on and off the nail and literally up and down your nail) to help blend the colours :)
The colours I've used here are Red/Pink= OPI 'Color to Diner For', Orange= Kensington Mall (was a freebie), Gold= Barry M Foil Effects Gold (you can only see it on a few nails because it was covered by the grass)

Step 3)
Add your grass! I used a black striper (by Andrea Fulerton) and just did it stroke by stroke both from the tip up and down to the tip. [I added some shimmer in (Leighton Denny Gold Dust) just before this step]

Step 4)
Add your tree(s), birds, bats, flowers, whatever you like! :))

So here's a few more pics of mine! Enjoy them!

As you can see, it's a little messy, but I've had so many compliments on it (two of whom are from fully grown men!) that it is so worth it! So give it a try yourself :)
I've also had a request on twitter to do a Water Marble and normal gradient tutorial, which I will hopefully get around to doing one of during the weekend (whilst balancing volunteering, homework, a job interview and seeing my Dad for the first time in like 2 months)!
So yes, have a good weekend yourself and I shall see you back here soon! =)

P.S. If you do try my design yourself, I'd love to see what you do with it! Leave a comment with a link to your blog or image, or tweet me @Nail_Parade ! :)

Fridail: OPI Beach Sandies!

Happy Wednesday  Friday everybody! Where did the time go!? Anyway, we'll dive straight in with the post! I apologise in advance for the iPhone-quality of images, I'm still looking for some batteries that my camera won't complain about. Today I'm covering OPI's Beach Sandies from the Brazil collection, which is a little quartet of mini liquid sand polishes. Can I just say here, if anyone high up in the chain of OPI reads this (which is unlikely, but if you do then HI!), please please pleeeeease make these in full-sized bottles? Please! So... This is the box, and the four that you get (I swatched super quickly over each, so do excuse that)

LiL Challenge: Floral

Hello! Today's prompt for Life in Lacquer's July Nail Art Challenge is Floral! My initial reaction to this was "urgh. Great, I hate flowers." but then I found some really pretty designs around the internet and my spirits were lifted a little! (I really am crazy-impressed by a lot of these mind, they're so detailed and delicate and pretty)
