Well hello there! And a big Happy Chinese New Year to you all for yesterday!
So, it's the year of the Wood Horse- sounds good to me!
I did a bit of a nail art design to celebrate too, and for a change (and the first time...) I free-handed it, using my nail art brushes!
So, it's the year of the Wood Horse- sounds good to me!
I did a bit of a nail art design to celebrate too, and for a change (and the first time...) I free-handed it, using my nail art brushes!
I decided on the concept of a Chinese Dragon flowing through my nails, although the head and the body didn't really line up because hands are silly and I couldn't bend my thumb to the right angle.
But I still decided to go with it anyway, and went ahead and painted a dragon's head onto my thumb nails:
As you can probably tell, dragon's are definitely not my strong point when drawing or painting, and so they look a bit more canine than they should, but shh, I'm taking it as a learning curve ;)
The rest of the dragon flowed quite nicely anyway, so I'm very happy with it as a design.
I also wanted to incorporate something horse-y into the design, to embrace the year of the horse, so I added a horse shoe onto my pinkies. Maybe it's a bit of good luck, too- who knows!
I hope you liked this design! And if you try one out for yourself I'd *love* to see it at some point! So tweet me, post it to my facebook wall or leave a comment with a link! Details are all below or to your right! ^^
