Fridail: Revlon Sun Candy- "Sun Shower"

Happy Friday Everyone!
Do you remember, about 2 years ago Revlon released a pretty awesome collection of polishes called "Moon Candy"? Those were a creme-gel formula on one side, with a flakey glitter in a similar shade on the other side. Well, Revlon have released a bit of a counter-moon candy...
Introducing... Sun Candy!

These polishes have the same creme-gel formula in the base colour, but instead of flakey glitter, we have fine grainy glitter in another shade of the themed colour!
The colours available are....
Celestial Shine- A pale creamy colour (very very slightly orange) duo'd with a soft golden glitter
Pink Dawn- A pastel 'baby' pink, paired with some pale pink slightly golden glitter
Solar Flare- A pastel peach base, combo'd with slightly yellow-shaded glitter
Lava Flame- A bright orange base for pairing with a golden glitter
Shimmering Sunset- A bright pink base to be paired with an orange-gold glitter
Sun Shower- A pastel blue-mint shade, with a silver-blue glitter

The last three are the ones that I picked up for myself, simply because the colours were the most appealing to me! I'm really not one for pale colours!
I'm going to bring you swatches of these three polishes over the course of three posts- the first one today, and the other two next Wednesday and Friday.
Today, I bring to you...

Now, when looking at these pictures, please take into account that the polish really did not look this bright at all in person, but more like a soft blue/mint shade that isn't too bright, and isn't too pastel.

The glitter was also pretty hard to photograph nicely, and appears a little more sparkly than you can see here...

Let's talk about application though! The base is a typical Revlon formula, and is always so amazingly lush to apply. (In my opinion, anyway) This was fully opaque after two average coats and then ready for some glitter!

The glitter also covered pretty darn well, even with one coat. I did two coats here though, to see if it you could see it any better, but it didn't really do much, so I think the colour combo is slightly off, in comparison to the other colours, which you will see very very soon!

So in a general conclusion, this collection is pretty awesome, but this polish lacks the flare that the others have, as the glitter is way too much of a similar shade to the base colour that it's supposed to be paired with. Separately though, these polishes are definitely worth the investment, as the colours really are gorgeous. And of course, if you're looking for just a slight shimmer, this polish will be great for you!

Below, you can see some pics that I took when the flash is on, giving the glitter more of a silver appearance. You can also tell that the glitter spread nice and evenly, which is awesome!

You can get your paws on these polishes for only £7.99 from your local Superdrug or Boots.
