Fridail: Radiant Orchid- Colour of the Year!

Hey there!
Happy Easter everybody! :)
So, for those of you who didn't know already, there's a whole "Colour of the Year" thing that Pantone release each year. (Personally, I had no idea what so ever!)
Last year, this colour was Emerald, which I am genuinely gutted that I missed out on- I love green!
This year's colour is on the other end of the spectrum, and goes by the  name "Radiant Orchid" which is a kind of pinky-purple floral tone.
From www.pantone.co.uk

As you all probably know, I am definitely not a fan of any pink tones, and personally this is a little too pink for me, so it won't be a featured colour despite it being "colour of the year", but to celebrate the occasion, I pulled a nail polish out of my collection that more-or-less fits the theme. Let me know what you think of it, anyway!

I added a highlight nail for a little bit of variation and also matte-coated my middle three nails to compare with the two shiny nails.

Honestly, I was kinda hoping that you'd be able to see the pinky/purple tones underneath the holographic polish...
I was wrong, it got completely covered up.

Matte or shine- which do you prefer?

Polishes used:
Pinky/Purple/ "Radiant Orchid" tone: Rimmel London Lycra by Kate in "Disco Fever"
Silver: Nails Inc's Westbourne Park Hologram Polish

So, what do you all think of this mani and also the 'colour of the year'? I'd love to read your opinions, so don't forget to leave a comment below, or catch me on Twitter, Facebook, or Bloglovin!

Thanks for reading, see you soon!

How To: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails are a great way to ensure that your mani matches your outfit over a set period of days (depending on how many colours you use), and it also just looks pretty dang awesome. You've seen a few of my own mani's where gradients have been used (these ones below, in example), especially those in more recent posts! So a tutorial is definitely long overdue- I hope you find it useful!

Wail: Models Own Hypergel "Blue Glint"

Hello hello, good day to you! :) Welcome to the first ever on-purpose Wednesday Nail post! Freshly nicknamed as... The Wail ! Today's Wail features Models Own's Hypergel in the shade "Blue Glint" ! For those of you who don't know, the Hypergel polishes are fairly new polishes by Models Own, being released in February 2014, and they're polishes which produce a 'Gel' effect... Without the use of UV lamps. (Kinda similar to the Barry M Gelly's, but we'll get onto that in a sec) The colour I went for initially was Red Lustre  but I lucked out by a couple of minutes and it had sold out on the Models Own site just  before I went to buy it. *sniffles* So, instead, I went for the blue, cause you can never have too many blues!

Mail: Messy Mani

Hello! Let it be known that from this day forth, any nail posts posted on Mondays shall be known as "Mail's". Yay! For the first "Mail" post, I'm going to be sharing one of my new purchases with you... Model's Own's "Erase" Corrector Pen! I feel like this could be a major turning point in my blog's image quality, as I no longer have an excuse for messy mani's.  Though I'd first like to point out that I feel like I have come quite far since the beginning of my blog, and no longer post images such as this... I mean, just look at that thumb!? (Polish is Barry M Spring Green) ...Except for today, I'm posting a very (purposefully) messy mani, to show you how the corrector pen can work! Also please keep in mind that I actually did this mani pretty much in the dark, around midnight the other day. :D I quite enjoyed being super careless with my painting, actually. Is that wrong of me? Also, you m...
