*This post contains an item which was supplied by Born Pretty Store in return for an honest review. In this post, this item is the "Neon Zebra Print Sticker"
Hello everyone! It's finally my Christmas break- which means no more online assessments or deadlines, and therefore more time to blog. I'm going to go back to the usual 3 posts a week- Monday, Wednesday and Friday!
Anyway, today I have another review item from the amazing Born Pretty Store to show you! I was sent a strip of one long neon zebra print sticker.
This was actually quite an easy general thing to use, as you just peel it off the plastic backing, stick it to your nail, and seal it in with top coat. The tricky part comes with the cutting and aligning of the sticker itself. After an extremely miserable first attempt of trying to cut out a piece in the shape of my nail, and even after trying to cut out some stripes (which I failed to get the right curve from the bottom of my nail) I gave up and grabbed a hole punch.
This was so much easier, and the effect I got from layering the circles was pretty cute too I think! I'm slightly disappointed that I couldn't get the full zebra effect from them, but I think if you have the patience and the ability to cut out shapes (which I obviously lack), you'll absolutely love them.
Another couple of points to mention is that they're a little hard to peel off from the backing unless you're using a part where the plastic is extended from the edge of the design, and also that they do file off- so if you place it slightly over the edge of your nail, you can just grab a nail file and file it away.
You can buy the sticker from here with a choice of 10 designs for a mere $1.59, which is around £1 at the current conversion rate!
You may have noticed that there is also a frog appearing in this mani... Well, as a Zoologist, we had to do a poster relating to something animal-y for Uni- and our group's topic was Chytrid Fungus, which affected lots of frog species, and I was landed with the extremely fun (and messy) task of building a paper mache frog. It was amazing!
Here's a quick pic of our amazing frog-
So anyway, I did a cute little frog on my nails to match our poster for our presentation day, and it was super easy to do! All I did was paint half of my nail green, and then add two large-ish dots of green polish for the eyes using a dotting tool, and add in some black dots and a cheesy frog grin with a thin black brush. I also added on two little breathing holes above his mouth.
Lucky for you my dear readers, Born Pretty Store also sell nail-art kits, which include a dotting tool and nail art brushes. There's a 7 piece one here for $3.82 (£2.43) or a 15 piece one here for $5.96 (£3.79).
Even more lucky for you, Born Pretty Store have provided me with a code that gives 10% Off all their full price stock- and it's for you guys! The code is available on the right-hand side bar so you don't have to search for posts every time you want to use it. But for now, the code is...
