Fridail: Colour Me Crazy: Red!

Hello!
Happy Friday everyone :)
From now on, for the next 12 weeks, Fridail posts will be used for showcasing my British Nail Blogger Colour Challenge nails!

To find out more about the British Nail Bloggers, click here!

So, as you can see, the first challenge prompt is red! Which means I got to dig out my forever-favourite red polish- Nicole by OPI's "American as Apple Pie" from Carrie Underwood's collection.

I did a little gradient mani, though it turned out a little more pink than I expected it to, especially with the flash on (which you can see in the pictures above!)

I have a tutorial on how to do gradient nails, which you can find here!

My gradient actually came out quite speckly this time, and I think it's because of the polishes I used. On my ring finger I only used the OPI one with Barry M's Matte "Crush" and it worked quite well, but on all my other nails, I added Barry M's Aquarium "Mediterranean" polish between them, which is quite sheer and shimmery and obviously didn't mix in quite well.
Though, I think I quite like the way it appears all speckled! It brings something new to the mani- though I do wish that the reds were a bit more dominant instead of turning pink, but pffft, I still like it!

So that's it for the red challenge! There's a link up below for you to check out what everyone else has done with the prompt.
See you soon!

(PS. The blog will be going through a few colour and layout changes over the weekend in preparation for all the new branding! I'm excited!)

Finally , the time has come for the ever-promised "Barry M Gelly Polishes Review & Swatch" Post! YAY! Now, now, settle down, settle down, and prepare yourself for an image-heavy post! Panorama View? Yes please... Okay, so that picture isn't too great. But there's the colours that between us (Me and Rhian) have in the Gelly range. We're only missing "Grapefruit" I think...

How To: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails are a great way to ensure that your mani matches your outfit over a set period of days (depending on how many colours you use), and it also just looks pretty dang awesome. You've seen a few of my own mani's where gradients have been used (these ones below, in example), especially those in more recent posts! So a tutorial is definitely long overdue- I hope you find it useful!
