LiL Challenge: Floral

Hello!
Today's prompt for Life in Lacquer's July Nail Art Challenge is Floral!
My initial reaction to this was "urgh. Great, I hate flowers." but then I found some really pretty designs around the internet and my spirits were lifted a little! (I really am crazy-impressed by a lot of these mind, they're so detailed and delicate and pretty)

I thought at first about doing a typical dotted-flower since it's nice and easy, and then I saw these two designs:
This really cute cherry blossom nail art can be found on "Did My Nails" here

This pretty pink daisy nail art can be found on Pretty Tough Nails here.

So after pondering over which design to attempt as a highlight nail (I was feeling lazy- can you tell?), I went for the daisies.... And then made an absolute mess!

So I decided to add some gems.... And then split the packet open and everything so just decided to use them all!

OPI polish is "Frog in my Throat" and is a duo/multi chrome polish (I can't decide which...) that flickers mostly between golden and green tones, with the occasional flicker of a more coppery colour.

The flower-thing was painted on using Barry M's "Hot Pink" polish and using a small-ish nail art brush.

So yeah! It's not my best work ever again- I'm gonna take a break from my nail art brushes for a while haha. But that's my flower mani! I hope you liked it!

See you all soon!

  1. This is one of my favourites because it's really creative, I love rhinestones and I think it's great what you did with the flower x

Your Guide to Barry M Gelly's!

Finally , the time has come for the ever-promised "Barry M Gelly Polishes Review & Swatch" Post! YAY! Now, now, settle down, settle down, and prepare yourself for an image-heavy post! Panorama View? Yes please... Okay, so that picture isn't too great. But there's the colours that between us (Me and Rhian) have in the Gelly range. We're only missing "Grapefruit" I think...

How To: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails are a great way to ensure that your mani matches your outfit over a set period of days (depending on how many colours you use), and it also just looks pretty dang awesome. You've seen a few of my own mani's where gradients have been used (these ones below, in example), especially those in more recent posts! So a tutorial is definitely long overdue- I hope you find it useful!
