Wail: LiL Challenge: Blue!

Hey everyone!
I'm writing this post from my garden since it's all sunny and hot still! (Trying to get a tan!)

So today I bring you my blue nails for Life in Lacquer's July Nail Art Challenge!

I used 4 polishes in total, though one can look a bit more like a purple (and one actually is a purple!) and also had the help of a couple of different sized dotting tools and a makeup sponge.

The dotted swirls design is one I found on "Try My Hand". You can find the original post here!

The polishes I used are...

Rimmel London's Metal Rush in the shade "Royal Blue". This polish is a multi-chrome which flicks between shades of silver, blue, green and purple depending on the light, though is mostly blue and purple in shade.

For the dots I used Nails Inc's "The Mall" which is one of my all-time favourite polishes ever! It's a very pretty metallic royal blue shade with as slight purple hue.

For my ring finger, I first used a coat of Revlon's "Plum Night" which again is one of my all-time favourite polishes. I was gutted when I heard they discontinued it, but earlier this year I found out that it was back! So maybe it wasn't discontinued at all! It's a very nice deep purple creme polish.

Using my make-up sponge, I dabbed Barry M's "Pacific" from their Aquarium collection, over the tip of my plum nail. It didn't really work too well as the shimmer didn't gradient very nicely- but never mine!

And that's it! Thank you for reading and see you all either tomorrow or Friday! (Hopefully tomorrow!)
Enjoy the sunshine while it's here!

How To: Gradient Nails

Gradient nails are a great way to ensure that your mani matches your outfit over a set period of days (depending on how many colours you use), and it also just looks pretty dang awesome. You've seen a few of my own mani's where gradients have been used (these ones below, in example), especially those in more recent posts! So a tutorial is definitely long overdue- I hope you find it useful!

Wail: Models Own Hypergel "Blue Glint"

Hello hello, good day to you! :) Welcome to the first ever on-purpose Wednesday Nail post! Freshly nicknamed as... The Wail ! Today's Wail features Models Own's Hypergel in the shade "Blue Glint" ! For those of you who don't know, the Hypergel polishes are fairly new polishes by Models Own, being released in February 2014, and they're polishes which produce a 'Gel' effect... Without the use of UV lamps. (Kinda similar to the Barry M Gelly's, but we'll get onto that in a sec) The colour I went for initially was Red Lustre  but I lucked out by a couple of minutes and it had sold out on the Models Own site just  before I went to buy it. *sniffles* So, instead, I went for the blue, cause you can never have too many blues!

Mail: Messy Mani

Hello! Let it be known that from this day forth, any nail posts posted on Mondays shall be known as "Mail's". Yay! For the first "Mail" post, I'm going to be sharing one of my new purchases with you... Model's Own's "Erase" Corrector Pen! I feel like this could be a major turning point in my blog's image quality, as I no longer have an excuse for messy mani's.  Though I'd first like to point out that I feel like I have come quite far since the beginning of my blog, and no longer post images such as this... I mean, just look at that thumb!? (Polish is Barry M Spring Green) ...Except for today, I'm posting a very (purposefully) messy mani, to show you how the corrector pen can work! Also please keep in mind that I actually did this mani pretty much in the dark, around midnight the other day. :D I quite enjoyed being super careless with my painting, actually. Is that wrong of me? Also, you m...
